IDO is now AVEVA Instrumentation!
We are pleased to announce that our world-beating Instrumentation Design Office technology has been acquired by AVEVA, the leading supplier of engineering software to the plant industries. From now on, it will be sold and supported by AVEVA’s worldwide network of local offices, under the brand name of AVEVA Instrumentation.
We have always been proud of our technology leadership in this vital aspect of plant engineering and are delighted to be able to associate our products with those of the acknowledged industry leader. This is great news for our customers, many of whom are also AVEVA customers. They will not only benefit from a greatly increased sales and support network, but will also see enormous opportunities opening up as AVEVA Instrumentation is progressively integrated onto the AVEVA technology platform. This integration will expose AVEVA Instrumentation to the whole range of AVEVA’s design communication, collaboration and information management technologies to provide what I believe will be an unrivalled level of capability in instrumentation engineering throughout the entire plant lifecycle.
This acquisition represents the achievement of personal ambitions for the iDesignOffice team and, with the resources of AVEVA behind it, an opportunity to fully realise the potential of the technology we have created. We very much look forward to working with the AVEVA team to achieve our shared vision.
We have already informed registered IDO users of this acquisition, and of the arrangements for continuing the high levels of product support they have received. | New Foreign Languages Added - Monday, 9 February 2009
Due to interest from customers in Hungary, Thailand, and Turkey, the latest release of IDO 5 adds three new 'machine translations' for Hungarian, Thai and Turkish. These three languages are included in all IDO 5 updates from 9 February 2009. |

| IDO 5.0 Released! - Tuesday, 30 September 2008
IDO 5.0 was released today and is available immediately to all our existing and new customers.
IDO 5.0 is a major release that adds many new features including support for foreign language data entry (including mixing languages on the same report, datasheet and/or drawing). IDO 5.0 has full translations of its user interface in English and Japanese and includes 'machine translations' for Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese (PRC), Korean, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Romanian, Czech, Farsi (Persian) and Arabic. Languages are user selectable at runtime.
IDO 5.0 adds many new productivity features and includes additional catalogue data and updated online help. |

IDO 4.05 adds support for AutoCAD® 2008. Loops, Hook-ups, Terminations and Cable Block Diagrams can now be saved in AutoCAD 2000 to 2008 format. |

iDesignOffice has released a new application to enable AutoCAD® P&IDs to be electronically scanned and instrument data to be checked against the IDO Instrument Index. The new application is IntelliLink P&ID and is available immediatley. |
