AVEVA Instrumentation has successfully produced design documentation for many important projects in the Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries including both offshore & onshore facilities in Australia, Middle East, Asia and North Sea (UK).

Application Modules
AVEVA Instrumentation is licensed per application (module) per workstation. Licenses can be purchased outright or rented on a monthly basis (conditions apply). AVEVA Instrumentation consists of three integrated application modules that share design and 'As built' data:
Instrument Engineer (including Datasheets) Manages all tasks typically handled by an instrument engineer during a project lifecycle including instrument index data entry and reports. Instrument Engineer enables instrument datasheet (specification sheet) creation and document management (revision control, batch printing etc). This module also includes process data import/entry which can be linked to user defined datasheets and Microsoft Excel® import/export functionality. This is normally the only AVEVA Instrumentation module required by a engineer during a project.
Instrument Designer Manages all tasks typically handled by an instrument designer during a project lifecycle including CAD drawing creation, drawing list management, updating of revisions and printing of CAD files for loop diagrams, termination diagrams, Hookups (installation details) with Bill of Materials etc. This module is used to generate CAD files from the AVEVA Instrumentation database by automating the drafting process and is normally only used by a designer during a project.
Wiring Manager Handles all tasks typically carried out by an instrument designer related to detail cable, wiring and termination design. This includes definition of equipment terminal arrangements (field devices, junction boxes, marshalling cabinet and panel devices such as relays, IS barriers & I/O modules), cable creation and termination, cross-patch/internal wiring etc., Generation of Cable Schedules and cable, cable gland and cable gland adapter Bill of Materials and creation of Cable Block Diagrams. This module enables users to create termination reports & Cable Block Diagrams without requiring CAD.
All three AVEVA Instrumentation modules include: AVEVA Instrumentation Grid Manager for user defined grid view fields, AVEVA Instrumentation Report Manager for user defined reports (including export to PDF and Excel) and AVEVA Instrumentation Audit Manager enabling viewing of complete audit trail (data change history) when using a SQL Server/Express database

Document Formats
AVEVA Instrumentation utilises Microsoft Windows® and .NET technology to create:
- All drawings in AutoDesk® AutoCAD® DWG format (Release 2000 to 2009 supported) - AutoCAD license required
- Datasheets in Microsoft Excel® XLS format (Office 2000, Xp, 2003, 2007 supported) - Excel license required
- Loop diagrams & termination diagrams can be created in Adobe Acrobat® PDF (AutoCAD not required)
- All project data is stored in Microsoft Access® or SQL Server® 2000/2005/2008 databases. New report layouts can be user created using the AVEVA Instrumentation Report Manageror using Microsoft Access
- Supports Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 Express (Microsoft's free client server database!)
- Data can be exported to Microsoft Excel® XLS format (Excel license not required)
Foreign Language Data Entry
AVEVA Instrumentation 12.0supports foreign language data entry to enable text in any language to appear in drawings, datasheets and/or reports created with AVEVA Instrumentation (including mixing languages on the same document e.g. English and Russian etc). Furthermore, the AVEVA Instrumentation 5.0 user interface can be translated into any language. AVEVA Instrumentation 5.0 was released in English and Japanese. iDesignOffice also includes 'machine translations' for many other languages and we plan to release updated translations based on user demand/feedback*:

*AVEVA Instrumentation 12.0 has 'machine' translations of its user interface (dialogs, grid captions and messages) for Chinese - simplified (PRC), Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, Arabic, Farsi (Persian), French, German, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish, Hungarian, Czech, Romanian, Bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Turkish, Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese.
